Mr. Kent founded and published in 1999 the first serious newspaper for the Gay and Lesbian community, an award winning weekly newspaper that became a member of the Florida Press Association and won acclaim for its journalistic integrity and honesty in portraying the life of a growing community in South Florida . Mr. Kent sold the paper in January of 2004 to a national chain, winning an entrepreneurial award for starting the paper from scratch and selling it for six figures.
